Why This Reference Exists
Older directory collections and modern public records are dispersed across Mount Pleasant, Westchester County, and New York agencies. The Town Assessor’s material identifies a recorded parcel owner for a particular roll year. Westchester Records Online and County Archives support land-record work. The Mount Pleasant Public Library’s local-history collection holds newspapers, maps, obituary indexes, and family material. This reference brings the access routes, limits, coverage facts, and custodian contacts together without claiming that any source is a complete resident list.
What the Reference Offers
- Record paths: the street directory for address-keyed sources, the city directory for historical collections, and the resident lookup for careful one-person verification.
- Custodians: the Town Clerk, Assessor, County Clerk, court clerks, Board of Elections, and local-history repositories.
- Methods: parcel-to-deed workflows, how to read a historical directory, and ways to pair a dated household record with a map or archive.
- Access limits: New York Freedom of Information Law routes, privacy exclusions, sealed records, and the Town’s local request process.
Limits of Our Role
This is a privately operated reference site. It is not connected to a Mount Pleasant office, Westchester County department, New York agency, court, archive, or library. Important limits include:
- We cannot confirm that a particular person currently lives in Mount Pleasant.
- We cannot retrieve, certify, or alter a custodian’s record for you.
- We cannot add a name to or remove a name from any government or archive index.
- We do not provide legal advice about a record, dispute, or access request.
- We cannot guarantee that a portal, coverage period, fee, or office detail has not changed.
Only the office or archive that holds a record can confirm, certify, or correct it. This reference is not a consumer reporting agency and cannot be used for FCRA-regulated decisions.
